Nick Platoff wins San Francisco Symphony position

Nick Platoff (BM 2014) has recently been appointed the new Associate Principal Trombone of the San Francisco Symphony. He will join NU alum and faculty member Tim Higgins in the orchestra. Congratulations Nick!
 

Michael Mulcahy to Premier New Work

Professor Mulcahy will be premiering Carl Vine's Five Hallucinations for Trombone and Orchestra with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. This piece is co - commission from both orchestras which will premiere in Chicago in October 2016 and Sydney April 2017.

Scott Nguyen wins Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral Bass Trombone Competition

Scott Nguyen has been named the winner of the 2015 ITA Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral Bass Trombone Competition  held in Valencia, Spain. He won a $2,000 cash prize donated by Getzen and is following in the footsteps of last year's winner and NU Alum Gabe Roberson.
